TEAM OHIO: "Training Athletes to win on and off the Track"

Team Ohio Track Club, Inc. was established in 1997. It is a summer track and field club that offers a holistic training approach that impacts athletes throughout their athletic career and life. Team Ohio is a non-profit organization with 501(C)(3) tax-exempt status. It is a registered member of USA Track and Field, Inc. (USATF), and a registered member of USATF Ohio Association.

Although track is primarily and individual sport, Team Ohio focuses on methods that encourage teamwork and family. The total athlete (mind and body) are trained. The coaches instill a sense of self respect, discipline and hard work in every athlete. Since its establishment, multiple Team Ohio athletes have qualified for the USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships.

Whether you're 7 or 70, a sprinter or a distance runner, an elite runner or just an athlete wanting to stay in shape...Team Ohio welcomes you into our family! Is Team Ohio Right for you?

The Northwest Track Club, Inc. was formed in 1978 and is a chartered member of the Ohio Association, USATF (formally TAC). Since its inception more than 2,000 young athletes have worn the Red/White of the Northwest Track Club. The club has averaged over 80 athletes per year since its beginning.

 The club has produced 65 youth national champions and down through the years, its athletes have established 8 national youth records. Three athletes from the club have gone on to participate in the Olympic Games, winning 1 silver and 1 bronze medal. Several of the clubs athletes have won national titles at the NCAA Division I and Division II National Championships as well as at the NAIA Championships and the National Junior College Championships.

Club members have represented the USA on National teams and have competed in Canada, Bahamas, Bulgaria, Scotland, and Greece. Club coaches have represented the USA on 10 occasions and traveled to such countries as Cuba, Canada, Hungary, Bulgaria, Scotland, and Singapore.

More than 300 athletes from the club have gone on to compete at the college level, most on athletic scholarships. Athletes who's beginnings was the Northwest Track Club, have competed for such schools as Ohio State, Michigan State, Florida, Tennessee, Illinois, Kansas State, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Cincinnati, Morgan State, Southern, Gambling, Southeast Missouri, Arizona State, Central State, Austin Peay, Kent State, Purdue, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Lincoln, South Carolina State, St. Augustine, Bowling Green, Toledo, USC, Georgia, Akron, Miami and others.

Thirty years ago in 1983, the Northwest Track Club was the host for the first combined boys and girls Track and Field Championships. Prior to 1983, the girls competed at one place (Spokane 1982) and the boys were at another (Omaha 1982). Over 4,000 athletes participated in the 1983 meet held in Dayton. To this date, this is still the record for athlete participation.

Since 1987 the New World Track Club has been developing champions on and off the track. During the past 26 years, New World Track Club emerged as one of the nations leading youth track and field programs for boys and girls ages 8 to 18.  New World has developed 140 national championship medal winners including 11 national champions and one national record-holder.
For the past several years, New World has annually hosted the Columbus Track & Field Classic, the first track and field meet on the USA Track & Field Ohio Association outdoor meet schedule.  The Columbus Track & Field Classic is one of five meets in the Columbus Track & Field Series hosted annually by New World.  The other meets in the series include: The Ohio Association Jr. Olympics Combined Event Championships (June 14-15 at Thomas Worthington High School); the Worthington Summer Classic (June 15 at Thomas Worthington High School); and two Wednesday Night Track Meets (June 19 and July 17 at Westerville North High School).  All of the meets in the series are include youth, open/senior and masters competition (with the exception of the Ohio Association Jr. Olympics Combined Events Championships which is only for youth divisions).
Hosting local and association meets; participating in local, regional and national competition; organizing college tours; and other club activities expose New World members to a diversity of positive experiences.  New World programs promote health and fitness, encourage and reward academic and personal achievements, and encourage activities that help members develop their full potential as young people.
