Eggleston and Pace win Gold Medals at Youth Nationals

New World members bring home eighteen medals.

Lily Eggleston won the 8 & Under Girls javelin and Olivia Pace won the 11-12 Girls 100 meter dash at the USA Track & Field Youth National Championships.  Lily and Olivia were joined by eleven of their New World Track Club teammates competing at the national championship meet in Lisle, Illinois on June 26-30.  With their first place finishes, Lily and Olivia became New World’s 13th and 14th National Champions.   

In addition to her 100m dash national championship in a time of 13.31, Olivia also sprinted to a silver medal finish in the 200m dash (27.29).  Lily was also a multiple medalist, adding a 4th place bronze medal in the 800m run (3:23.16) to the New World hardware collection.  

Overall, New World members brought home a club record total of 18 medals.  Four other New World members won multiple events.

Demiyah Johnson won three bronze medals – 8 & Under Girls 200m dash (3rd), 100m dash (4th), and 400m dash (4th).  Josiah Adams (13- 14 division) won two bronze medals – 5th in the 800m run and 4th in the 400m dash.  Talaya Sanford (13-14 division) also won two bronze medals – (13-14 division) 3rd in the high jump and 5th in the 200m dash.  

Finally, JaKai Hayes (11-12 division) brought home three medals – a silver medal in the 80m hurdles, 3rd in the pentathlon and 6th in the 800m run.
